Yeah I noticed that Karl was keeping a lot of distance between him and Klein-guy. I was definitely glad to not be in his line for most of the ride out, but it was pretty easily pedaling with him and Dave on the way back in for some reason. He seems to be better at holding a line than he was, too.

Started thinking about the beginning of the sprint last night, too, and think I could have held back a bit since I was pulling when the sprint began. Going downhill after a slight climb, it seemed like the right time to go, but we were still two miles out from town, I think. Probably should have waited until someone attacked from behind and then tried to get on their wheel - or even waited for a few more riders to break. I think also that if I try a little harder to get in the middle of the pack when the attacks begin on the way back into town that I'll have a better chance of keeping a faster pace for longer.

Still a noob, though, so I'm forgiving myself for now for not using a little more sense. Little learning opportunities present themselves each time I ride.

I tried to hold Gene's wheel ( I think thats's his name :/ ) way too early and blew up too. I'm great at seeing a break and putting out the bursts to stay in it but have no staying power once the intensity ramps up.
I couldn't wait till the Klein guy dropped, he almost took me out dieing in the pace line when I was next man back on the way home. He follows the next wheel really close, pedals hard and coasts .... was wearing me out.
Hope ya get the meds worked out. Good ride.
